If you happen to be in New York City during the next month and a half, be sure to check out “Playdate”, a selection of images by Ellen von Unwerth being exhibited at the Staley Wise Gallery through July 12. Von Unwerth is known for her erotic and sexy fashion photography, but it is more playful and fun than anything else.  [via PDN Photo of the Day]

This video has some explicit language so don’t play it out loud at work, but definitely watch it. If you need a push to get started on anything, this is it. Ze Frank tells the truth, “There’s no need to sharpen my pencils anymore; my pencils are sharp enough. Even the dull ones will make a mark, warts and all.” [via David duChemin]

Lauren Marsolier Lauren Marsolier

Assembling elements of photographs she has taken, both in the US and in Europe, Lauren Marsolier’s landscapes could be from anywhere, and I think that’s what I like about them. The vast emptiness, the blocks of color, and the patterns of the lines come together to make these wonderful environments that leave you unsure of whether or not you are looking at reality or someone else’s imaginary world.  [via Feature Shoot]

The Collector is a charming short film about an unnamed South African camera collector and the passion he has for a hobby we can all relate to.  [via Flavorwire]

Zev (aka Fiddle Oak) Zev (aka Fiddle Oak)

Shooting for nearly six years doesn’t sound like a very long time, but considering Zev (aka Fiddle Oak) is only 14, that amounts to nearly half his life. Collaborating with his older sister, Nellie, they create a fantastical dreamland with manipulated images of these miniature worlds. [via Colossal]

If you have something interesting you think we should feature on an upcoming Five for Friday, let us know.
