Five For Friday #21

“Give what you have. To someone else it may be better than you dare to think.”   – Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I fell in love with the portraits and fashion photography of Tom Hoops this week. His use of light and shadows is amazing, but what really draws you in are the eyes. They are absolutely mesmerizing. [via PhotoInterview]

Mikko Lagerstedt Mikko Lagerstedt

Beautiful landscapes, all with a solitary figure. Mikko Lagerstedt’s images are incredibly peaceful and serene. There is something about photographs which portray loneliness and isolation that really speak to me.  [via Inspiration Feed]

I know the Summer Olympics are over for another four years, but I had share this wonderful animation by Passion Pictures. It’s only a minute long so do yourself a favor and click on the full-screen version to watch.  [via the fox is black]

Samad Ghorbanzadeh Samad Ghorbanzadeh

There is something almost sinister about Samad Ghorbanzadehr’s images. They are haunting, surreal composites that make you wonder what is going on beyond the frame. You can almost hear the suspenseful music from a thriller begin to get louder as you wait to see what horror is going to pop out at you . [via My Modern Met]

World's Most Expensive Lens

Say hello to the most expensive lens in the world. Sheikh Saud Bin Mohammed Al-Thani of Qatar ordered this customized Leica 1600mm lens for a paltry US$2,064,500. The body is 1.2 meters long and weighs 132 pounds.  [via Design Taxi]
