Eighteen weeks ago, graphic designer Brent Holloman and his wife welcomed their first little girl, Genevieve (Vie) into the world. The birth of little Vie inspired Holloman to create a wonderful project, both as a design exercise and as a way to celebrate the changes in Vie’s early life, as he says, “For her first year (or as long as I can keep it going).” Each week, Holloman creates a uniquely themed silhouette. So far, the results have been wonderful and range from the “Isle of Vie” to clouds and constellations to wonderful collages of vintage ephemera. I hope there’s a book project somewhere in there, especially if he includes the stories behind some of the silhouettes. Be sure to visit his blog for the whole series.
