We are so excited to announce the winners of our first Monthly Photo Challenge. The theme of the month was "Love" and we got some great entries. First prize of the $75.00 Red River Paper gift certificate goes to Jeff Reeder for this wonderful capture. The composition, the expressions on the couple's faces, and the mirroring of the heart on the wall with the pose of the couple all come together to tell a beautiful story.
Second place and a $35.00 Red River Paper gift certificate goes to Jojo Luc. This looks like one of those "decisive moment" photographs. The kiss is spontaneous and the boy looks a little unprepared for it. The reds are vibrant and saturate and the lines of the girl leaning in in relation to the lines of the gate give it a great balance.
A big congratulations to both of our winners!
These types of theme challenges can be valuable to the creative process. They can get us out of our normal comfort zones and allow us to stretch creatively in ways we may not have thought of. We didn't have very many entries in the February Challenge, so let's really ramp it up for March. Tell your friends about it and get them to participate. You don't need a big, fancy DSLR to take wonderful photographs...you just need vision. So if you haven't registered here on F&B, do it now. Then get out and shoot and add your photos to the Flickr group!
That being said, we have announced the new theme for March...
RENEWAL
