Russian photographer and artist, Alexy Bednij is having fun with shadows in his latest series of photographs. Bednij manipulates the subjects as well as the shadows in post to create brilliant M.C. Escher-esque composites. At first glance, the shadows almost seem real, until you stare at the images for a bit and realize the shadows are being cast in multiple directions, creating impossible patterns and visual tension between the positive and negative spaces. Much cooler than those crazy dolphin sunset images at the mall.
