Julianne Moore Is A Work Of Art

Madame X

Life imitates art when the always-stunning Julianne Moore steps in front of the lens of famed fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh for an incredibly styled photo shoot, inspired by the paintings of John Singer Sargent, Egon Schiele, John Currin and Amedeo Modigliani. The result is a gorgeous set of photographs that successfully capture the mood of the originals, without being derivative or just literal recreations. In the photo based on Sargent’s Madame X, Moore beautifully captures the elegance and grace of the original, while Seated Woman With A Bent Knee uses the original as more of a jumping off point for a wonderfully intimate portrait. We love how Moore and Lindbergh have created work that is both homage and, at the same time, stands firmly on its own.
