Five For Friday #12

Reading Time: 2 minutes

“Creative work is not a selfish act or a bid for attention on the part of the actor. It’s a gift to the world and every being in it. Don’t cheat us of your contribution. Give us what you’ve got.”  – Steven Pressfield

Loretta Lux

Exaggerated features such as heads, eyes and even limbs give Loretta Lux’s images a strange mystique. You aren’t quite sure if what you are seeing is reality or not. They are simply mesmerizing and it can be difficult to turn away.  [via Loretta Lux]

Rob Sweere - Silent Sky Project

How long has it been since you gazed up and the sky and just watched? No agenda or purpose, just silently watching the clouds go by. Dutch artist Rob Sweere is betting that it was far too long and is taking his traveling social project, called Silent Sky Project all over the world to invite people to take 30 minutes to lie down with others and just be. So far, Sweere’s project has made it to the Netherlands, Brazil, Lithuania, Turkey, Australia, England, France, Korea, and  even New York City. Amazing. [via My Modern Met]

Stop-motion AND Legos? We’re in! Who wouldn’t say yes to this super-cute marriage proposal? Anthony Pinder spent weeks taking thousands of photographs every time his girlfriend left the house. [via Design Taxi]

If you have something interesting you think we should feature on an upcoming Five for Friday, let us know.
