February Walk Winners!
The Getty Center was the location for our February photo walk. Though southern California was smack in the middle of a winter deluge, the dark clouds gave way to gorgous blue skies as we made our way around one of the most stunning architectural projects in Los Angeles. Opened in 1997, The Getty Center’s permanent collection features pre-20th-century European paintings, drawings, illuminated manuscripts, sculpture, and decorative arts; and 19th- and 20th-century American and European photographs. We had about 75 or so join us for what turned out to be one of the best walks yet. We had a tough time going through the more than 500 photographs you submitted to the Faded & Blurred flickr group. In the end, there were three photos that we all kept coming back to as our favorites.
First Runner Up and the winner of a $25.00 BorrowLenses Gift Certificate is Joan Day for her wonderful slow-shutter image inside the gallery. Take note all you DLSR users, Joan shot this with a point & shoot…further proving that it’s about vision, not gear.
The winner of the February wallpaper is Mary M. Massie with this stunning macro image. You may download the larger (2560×1600) version by clicking on the image below, or grab the smaller (1280×853) version HERE
